I think reading and writing go hand in hand. You can not have one without the other. I love to read and I love to write. I can not get enough of those things. Read and writing require practice and rehearsal time. I make it a goal to read and write everyday, even if it is only for 15 minutes. Try it, you won't go wrong!

Often young people ask me where I get my writing ideas. Writing ideas are around all the time, you just have to open up to what is possible. But, remember, not every idea will grow into a book. Some of my funniest ideas come from things that on the surface may not be so funny like, doing the dishes, doing the laundry, driving -- everywhere and anytime.
