As a parent, I know what I do at home is crucial to my child's intellectual growth. With correct training and proper support, children learn to read. As a writer, I know the value of words and books.

Reading and writing experiences shape our understanding of the world. By providing nurturing environments that are rich with the written and spoken world, children learn to listen, speak, read, and write -- the keys that unlock our human potential.

I hope you take the time everyday to have meaningful talk with your children, enjoy a good book, draw a picture or do some writing. These things are the best glue I can think of to cement good family relationships.
